方式:研究人员选取了一些健康成人进行了实验室研究。经历两个晚上的基础睡眠后,受试者被随机分配到两个组中,实验组受试者(n = 36)每晚睡4 h,连续5晚,之后可获得一个连续12小时的安眠;对照组受试者(n=11)每晚睡10 h。且受试者要求晚上空腹,然后研究人员于每日早上检测受试者的静息代谢率和呼吸商(RQ)。 

结果:研究人员发现,限制睡眠后恢复睡眠,则民众的静息代谢率(在民众能量消耗中所占比重最大)降低(-2.6%,P=0.032)。对照组民众的静息代谢率无明显变化。无论睡眠时间长短,相对于白种人(n = 14)而言,非裔美国人(n = 22)每日的热量摄入相似,但静息代谢率较低(P =0.043)、呼吸商更高(P =0.013)。 

结论:睡眠不足导致民众早上的静息代谢率下降,这表明睡眠不足会导致民众的新陈代谢发生变化。
