众所周知，肥胖和超重已经成为一个普遍关注的全球性问题,它们可增加民众患心血管疾病和2型糖尿病的风险,也可伴随其他疾病产生。一些高热量的食物会像毒品和酒精一样让人上瘾，当我们吃东西的时候,大脑分泌多巴胺，使机体产生愉悦感，但是摄入过多有可能是由于大脑反馈系统失衡，因此需要解决这一问题，降低民众肥胖和超重的发生率。

近年来，民众大多使用药物抑制2型糖尿病的进展，进而达到控制血糖的目的。这种药物类似于机体自身分泌的GLP-1，如埃塞那肽和利拉鲁肽等。GLP-1 是回肠内分泌细胞分泌的一种脑肠肽。进食之后，血液中的GLP-1水平增加,导致胰岛素分泌增加和食欲降低。 

哥德堡大学萨尔格学院对老鼠进行的一项新进研究显示，用于治疗2型糖尿病的激素类药物会影响大脑的反馈系统,减少民众对食物的摄入量。后续研究表明,这种物质可以减少民众的饮酒量；也可以刺激白介素6和白介素1的分泌。

因此，对于肥胖者和超重者而言，这或许是一个非常好的消息。
