在150天龄的小鼠中,GFR显着降低了55%,但在RAP-011处理组中仅降低了30%。在200天龄的小鼠中,未处理小鼠中平均BUN为100mg/dl,而治疗组为60mg/dl。在200天龄的小鼠的肾脏中,ActRIIA和p-Smad2被诱导,MCP-1、纤连蛋白和间质纤维化也被刺激;而所有这些变化均被RAP-011的处理缓解。

此项研究表明:早期CKD的ActRIIA信号传导的激活有助于CKD-MBD成分的骨营养不良和心血管疾病以及肾纤维化。因此,在此项研究的Alport综合征模型中,抑制ActRIIA信号传导有助于改善和延缓CKD-MBD。
