阿斯利康AZ和默克MSD的PARP抑制剂Lynparza（奥拉帕尼）治疗BRCA突变的胰腺癌，III期临床POLO试验大获成功。

POLO试验表明，与安慰剂相比，Lynparza用作铂类化疗后无进展的、BRCA1 / 2突变转移性胰腺癌的维持治疗，其无进展生存期（PFS）得到显著延伸。PFS是该研究的主要终点。

Lynparza已经被批准用于治疗卵巢癌、输卵管癌和原发性腹膜癌，以及BRCA突变的HER2阴性乳腺癌。Lynparza作为一种新的抗癌药物，一直引领着AZ的收入增长。

美国食品和药物管理局FDA已经授予Lynparza孤儿药指定，用于治疗BRCA突变的胰腺癌患者，AZ称这是一种"具有严重未满足需求的破坏性疾病"，约占所有胰腺癌病例的5％-7％。

胰腺癌的治疗进展已经远远落后，该疾病具有非常低的存活率，不到7％的患者在诊断后五年仍然存活。
