从2014年12月1日到2015年1月31日期间对中国长沙89名健康成年校园工作人员进行观察研究。这种独特的拟实验性设计能够更好的表征暴露于空气污染环境中产生的效果,因为实验者的大部分时间都花在室内环境中。全程监测室内外臭氧浓度以及一氧化碳污染物颗粒,二氧化氮,二氧化硫情况。结合活动信息,居住地和办公地的过滤条件评估24小时和2周中室内外暴露浓度的均值。暴露均值和测定结果的关系通过单污染物和2种污染物现行混合模型进行分析,期间控制环境温度,二手烟的暴露以及个人层面的时变协变量。分别在4个实验期检测研究对象的炎症反应,氧化胁迫情况,动脉硬化情况,血压,血栓因子以及肺活量等。

结果显示在89名受试人员中,25(28%)名女性,平均年龄31.5(7.6)。24小时的臭氧暴露浓度从1.4ppb变至19.4ppb,与之对应的室外浓度从4.3ppb变至47.9ppb。在这个变化范围中,模型控制了一类二型一氧化碳污染物和潜在的干扰因子,24小时内增加10ppb和平均涨幅36.3%的血小板激活标记指标:P-selectin相关(95% CI, 29.9%-43.0%),还与心脏舒张血压涨幅均值2.8%(95% CI, 0.6%-5.1%)、18.1%肺部呼出一氧化氮、31.0%呼出的凝结亚硝酸盐和硝酸盐、-9.5%动脉硬化指标等相关。2周臭氧暴露中增加10ppb浓度和增加61.1%P-selectin水平及126.2%呼出凝结亚硝酸盐和硝酸盐水平相关。其余的生物学指标,包括肺活量,在24小时和2周的实验组间并没有差异。

短期内暴露在臭氧中可能与血小板激活和血压增加相关,这提示大家臭氧可能会影响到心肺功能健康。
